About

I’m a twenty-four year old Chinese-American documenting my time as a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant in Taiwan, 2017-2018.

A graduate of Wellesley College ’16, I majored in anthropology and minored in economics, though my main interest is in public health. My interest in global health was piqued after studying public health in Copenhagen, Denmark for a semester, and almost immediately jetting to the Philippines to intern at a reproductive health NGO.

As a traveler and an anthropologist, I try to be deferential, open-minded, and cognizant of my presence when I find myself in a culture other than my own. My philosophy is to avoid passing judgment or value on something I have not fully understood. This blog is also long overdue; I’ve always loved dabbling in writing, and this blog is a great way to put down my thoughts in a meaningful way as I travel.

Other countries I’ve visited include (updated May 2018): Cambodia, China, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Great Britain, Italy, Norway, Japan, Philippines, Scotland, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam
